If you are here on this page chances are you were given a "You Are Loved" card.
The background of this card comes from a young man, Dakota Humphries who tragically passed away September 16, 2023 at the age of 20.
Dakota never met a stranger, and he accepted God as his personal Savior. He wanted to make sure that others knew they were loved and cared about. Simple example of this is one time at a restaurant he had a bone in his food that shouldn’t have been there and instead of making a fuss, he disposed of it under the table and said it wasn’t the waiter's fault. He was not someone that ever wanted anyone to be in trouble. He loved all.
He would sit on the back of trucks and speak of his favorite Scriptures with friends. He was often quiet in group studies, but he was absorbing as much as he could. Dakota also chose to stay with a friend on the phone all night to ensure that friend was safe.
There is no doubt where he is now, as he publicly gave his life to Christ at a young age and was baptized in the river behind the Churchville Firehouse with a fellow brother in Christ.
Dakota was a ball of energy who loved to make others laugh. He loved to have a good time, listening to music, riding around with friends, hanging out at home, camping or wherever he was. He also wanted to make sure that his friends and family knew about God, and he shared that faith with his friends and family and prayed for them.
With this card we are wanting to honor his memory and his love for others while we are still here. We want to make sure that all families that have a loved one pass away never have to worry about where they are with regards to their salvation.
If you are feeling lost, left out, and not sure where to turn in life, come join us. We at Village Church are a family of believers who loves on one another and shares in the ups and downs of life. We believe that God’s Word is truth. He is our Savior and will deliver us from our sins.
In this life we will have troubles, but our God is bigger than any trouble we come across. God will bless us; he has already won and if we believe we will have eternity and live forever.
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. What does that mean for you? If you confess of your sins God will hear you and forgive you of your sins. We just need to be willing to confess and give them to God.
Come join us so you are not alone. We would love to see you at Village Church and have you become a part of our family. You are loved.
